Tommy Bowman just tweeted:
Rantavious Gilbert and Milos Kostic won't return next season and will transfer.

Gilbert is not a surprise. Kinda surprised by Kostic. IIRC, didn't he commit without actually visiting the campus. maybe Boone wasn't what he thought it would be

Two scholarships for some new players.

Gilbert was going to transfer last year, if I remember correctly, and saw very little PT this year, so I understand that. Kostic only had 1 game in the last 15 where he had more than 6 mins PT with 3 dnp's. I thought he showed some potential and I hate to lose him. Two more scholly's but it is getting late in the process. Time for Fox to go find some diamonds.

True, and let's be honest: Two scholarships for players who can help us win.

Milos was one that had good upside. A PF that could shoot the 3 and handle the ball would have given us some good match ups. He needed a year of work, but how many at this level don't.

I suspect both guys received some sage "guidance" in one-on-one, end-of-season reviews with Coach Fox. Kostic probably received some more sage guidance from his Mom and older sister--both of whom presently reside in the U.S.

Recruiting isn't close to being over for 2015 so we could see a new addition really slide into an open slot, but Mike Kobani's depth value just skyrocketed

With this in mind I've spent the last day or so double checking and updating the 2015 Main Page. I had to move a couple that I had as offers to commits elsewhere but everyone still listed is showing on the main recruiting sites as uncommitted players. Several of the reported offers were early ones so there's no telling exactly how many of the ones left are committable offers but these are the ones that are showing.

Hope things work out well for these two guys. Always hate to seen students leave without an ASU diploma in hand.

With all due respect Moose, I don't think that it is right to assume that transfers leave because they don't want to be here. Everyone's situation is different and reasons for leaving vary. Maybe they wanted to be here but it didn't work out the way they had hoped. People leave jobs all the time. Not because they don't want to be where they are anymore, but because they saw an opportunity to find a better situation for them.

How about "Two more scholarships for some new players"? I'll just change it. You are correct that there are tons of reasons for someone to leave and the same applies to these cases. There was a reason why but since I can't say that means I shouldn't have posted at all.
