#1 UALR Women @ #8 ASU 5 PM Thursday at HCC

The high-flying RPI #42 Lady Spartans of Arkansas-Little Rock (19-3, 12-1 SunBelt) are in The High Country to face our RPI # 163 ASU (10-11, 5-7 SunBelt)tomorrow afternoon at HCC in the prelim to the men's 7:30 game.
Suffice it to say that an ASU win over UALR would be monumental; especially without the apparent availability of all-everything forward Maryah Sydnor who has missed several consecutive games and has been rumored to be lost for the season. [Those rumors are unconfirmed, either by Coach Elderkin or by the athletic department.]
Edlerkin was absent from last night's Mountaineer Talk broadcast--deciding instead to accompany assistant coaches on an important recruiting trip.
What we know is that The Lady Spartans are very, very good; that they took an earlier game from the Apps in Little Rock 69-48 with Sydnor in the lineup; that the Apps caved-in on the home court Saturday and absorbed a 108-87 loss to a good Troy team. That leaves the eighth place Apps under the edge of the bubble for making the eight-team SunBelt Tourney next month. They need a couple of wins to assure a place in the tourney. They have only a half-game lead over ninth-place Georgia State.
As for the upcoming game UALR is favored by 8. Maryah, oh Maryah...
