App hires Buzz Peterson!...Again!

Appalachian State will hold a news conference at 6pm today to announce it has hired (or re-re-hired) Buzz Peterson as its head basketball coach for the upcoming 2014-2015 basketball season. It is believed to be a one-year contract worth over $1MM including bonuses and incentives. Officials are mum on why it is just a one-year deal, but it is widely speculated that both sides did not expect his term to last any longer than that anyway. Though not official, it is widely reported that, included in his staff, will be out-going Head Coach Jason Capel. He is also expected to announce former Appalachian Head Coach Tom Apke as well as a coaching newcomer, who is an unnamed but widely known Boone area real estate developer, as assistants. It has been speculated that the unnamed assistant is also giving Coach Peterson a $2.5MM home in the High Country if he completes the full term of his contract until next APRIL FOOLS DAY, but everyone involved believes its a safe bet that Coach Peterson will never actually own the home.

The thought of Buzzard returning to App makes my skin crawl. Wouldn't be a bad deal to be his real estate agent...get to list a home every year.
