Tommy Bowman just tweeted that Capel has said that Canty is out for the first 9 due to academics.
That's what I do. I gripe and I know things.

9 weeks = end of semester... Wonder what the over / under is on him being gone after 12-31?

We have t start recruiting students first and then atheles, nothing ticks me off more than a kid getting an opportunity like a scholarship and then wasting it. I can't say I like HF's results on the court, but his guys were some of the best off of it.

We know Canty has a court date next week; and it sounds as if he didn't get the job done in summer school. Basketball is the least of his concerns these days. He has to worry about his playing eligibility, i.e. his GPA and his successful credit hours to be classified as a junior. Doesn't sound positive for a return to the court. More embarrassment for Capel. Has the coaching staff been minding the store at all?

Per Tommy Bowman and the Winston-Salem Journal, freshman guard Aaron Scott has also been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules.

asu66 you obviously know what I was told. The court date is the REAL reason Canty was suspended. Cobb and Company are trying to spin it for something other than what it is. Grades issues are the least of his problems but they are substantial in their own right.

Never fear, we've added walk-ons to take up the slack for Canty and Scott. Borja Martin Pauls, a 5-10 Spaniard from Alicante, Spain and Mitch Purgason, a 5-8 guard from High Point have been added to the roster. Capel should be ready to "build" on his 44-49 record and his .473 winning percentage.
