Let’s not get carried away with Vasser. He suffered a major injury and is still a ways away from competing at a high level. Not saying he won’t get there eventually but the preponderance of newcomers at his position suggests we aren’t counting on him early on.

Might as well throw Clayton in there. At 6’7-6’8 he might see minutes haha.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2026 12:44 pmThis is what I have so far. If we don’t pick up someone else, we won’t have a choice. Even if he can steal 5-10 minutes, that’d be great!311neers wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2026 6:14 pmMight as well throw Clayton in there. He averaged around 8 ppg as a senior in high school. I don’t see it happening.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2026 9:15 pmIf we don’t pick up someone else, we won’t have a choice. Luke Wilson had 9.5 ppg in high school. Now he’s getting paid big timeapp97 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2026 9:23 pmHe averaged around 8 ppg as a senior in high school. With all those PG’s and SG’s, maybe DK’s gonna install the Princeton Offense next season?
Pete Carrill won a lot of games, so it might be a legit idea.

It will be interesting to see if Kerns and Co. do just that with an up tempo offense.

Different competition, different body/athleticism, different motor, but I see your point. Anything can happen, I suppose.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2026 9:39 pmLuke Wilson had 9.5 ppg in high school. Luke Wilson played in a small weak private HS basketball division. His team was good but the comp was not.app97 wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2026 8:37 pmDifferent competition, different body/athleticism, different motor, but I see your point. Hard to imagine Clayton only averaged 8ppg. I thought he was a solid player for his HS.

Re: Offseason thread: recruiting, transfer portal schedule, general discussion
Totally different player.. Transformed his body and learned how to play D and block shots without getting into foul trouble. It will be interesting to see if he can continue to develop offensively and get good coaching from Gerry.311neers wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 9:00 amLuke Wilson played in a small weak private HS basketball division. Solid, yes. But it was Asheville area basketball, nowhere near the level of bball comp you see in Charlotte, the triad, etc. For comparison, the other player in the same high school league who was his size played at D3 Roanoke College this year and averaged 3 ppg. He was 2 time conference player of the year in high school. I saw AC Reynolds (Clayton’s school) play Ben L Smith out of Greensboro in the second round of the playoffs Clayton’s senior year and the speed/athleticism overwhelmed them. Smith was loaded, but even their best player is a WCU commit for next year.

Edit: the Smith player flipped from WCU to Wofford.

When a guy transfers every year something is wrong. These third and fourth schools come across as that over confident woman who says, “I can fix him.”
