This "rumor" keeps popping up. I tried to squash it last time. Any insider on here will tell you he never said it. However, my belief is that some players may have misinterpreted what he was actually saying and shared that perspective with folks....Which was something to the effect of you go do what is best for you because I am doing the best for me. Essentially saying he was going to leverage his success to maximize his contract extension and he couldn't blame players for taking the money either.

He’s the SB coach I figured would jump at the first better deal that came his way. He just has that vibe. It doesn’t hurt that he had immediate success at Ark St and obviously recruits well. My guess would be Preston Spradlin at JMU as the next one to climb the ladder to a better deal if he can sustain a year or two of solid seasons.
