Seeding Scenarios
So App locked into either the #5 or #6 spot.
There may still be quite a bit of movement in the 2/3/4 spots. I think best case for App is South Alabama in the #4. It puts Arkansas St & Troy on the other side (two best teams on KenPom).
Looks something like
ULL
South Alabama
JMU
Troy
Not to mention the tipoff times are much more reasonable, full 24 hours between games.

Re: Seeding Scenarios
We are fading fast as we near the end of the season. Not a good way to get into SB tournament. Hope we can salvage a win tomorrow.

Re: Seeding Scenarios
Same! The one brightside heading into the tournament is App has the best "top-two" of any team in the Sunbelt (KenPom has had Tate at #1 nearly the entire season). It's even more wild that Tate/CJ are Top 10 in scoring given the relatively high efficiency + App's overall offense not scoring a ton. The team has been competitive even in the losse, it's just been the second halves that have been so much more difficult (may partly be due to the heavy starter minutes).
Looking back at the 2021 season that team got absolutely rocked to end the season and they still pulled it out even with two OT wins in the tournament (damn that was a crazy series to follow lol). Almonacy had a monster tournament after his coldest streak of the season. We've got some shooters, let's hope for the same!

Re: Seeding Scenarios
We can do anything from winning it all to one and done. At least we will be entertaining.

A winning path likely looks like....
Texas St
Troy
JMU
South Alabama
Texas St will be tough after wins over JMU & South Alabama past several days...

I'd still take that over the other side of the bracket.agentpaul001 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 01, 2025 4:37 amA winning path likely looks like....

Re: Seeding Scenarios
Yah totally agree, if all goes well App plays Texas St/JMU teams they've already beat. Arkansas St being on the other side off the bracket is about as good as you could hope for. I felt like Marshall closed out the season looking as good as they have all season. I wouldn't be surprised to see them take Arkansas St down...

Re: Seeding Scenarios
Ark St hasn’t been the same team down the stretch.
Should be an entertaining tournament.

One of the great things about college basketball and March Madness is that teams like App are still in it!
10 straight wins and we're buying App State- 2025 NCAA National Champions t-shirts!

Stole this from the SBC board.
https://barttorvik.com/tourneysim.php?c ... &year=2025
Looks like 65% favorite our first game, 25% likely to reach semis, and 5% chance to win it all.

Re: Seeding Scenarios
If the supporting cast can hit six combined threes a game (35%+) we can beat anyone. Hard to do that three nights in a row.

Re: Seeding Scenarios
It’s been a rough few weeks. It’s a new season now though. Time to turn the page and play together. I can’t say I’m confident, but I am hopeful.

Re: Seeding Scenarios
I don’t like the bracket - stretched out over a week. No real chance for any team outside the top 6, but they don’t have a real chance, anyway.
