Back to the beach…

Apparently no one wants the Sunbelt Conference Tournament outside of Florida. Or the Conference staff is happy with little atmosphere in a dated facility, but good seafood. I go every year and will probably continue but I have to think we could do better.

Thursday night game....for those that are coming, I'm considering a Thursday lunch get together. Anchor Bar is Buffalo is where the buffalo wing was invented. They do have a new franchise here in Myrtle Beach. I'll make a post in a week or two to see if there is any interest.

By the way, I was really excited to get a wing from the originator. The thought that they might be the same as like a regular wing you can get today crossed my mind. But it's a good sports bar, with lots of room if any are interested. Let me know. Send me a PM if interested

Don't tempt me, muchacho...always looking for a reason to visit Dirty Myrtle.

Well, it could be worse from a location perspective. The CAA is in DC, however, not in a very good part of town...
The attendance was not good for the game I went to (Towson/UNCW)...and Towson is only 1 hour away ....
But, yes, Florida does not make any sense for Sun Belt.

I’ve been to the original in Buffalo before a Bills game about 20 years ago. It’s actually a sit down restaurant. We heard a jazz trio the night we were there.

Football notables were hanging out in the bar, but it definitely was not a “Sports Bar”
Atmosphere.

Personally, I thing franchising kills the mystique (as it did with the original Sticky Fingers in Charleston), but that’s purely my opinion.

1000% agree on Sticky Fingers. Had my wedding rehearsal dinner there. Laid back, fun and great food. Not the same once franchised.

So what you’re saying is crApplebee’s may have served decent food at one time…before it was a chain?

All things are possible.
