Re: New WBB coach: Alaura Sharp
I was hoping to get a P5 retread but maybe an up and comer will help WBB take the next step.

How can a hose have a pipeline? Would it not be a hoseline instead?
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

You would think it’d be hard to find hose at a Christian school. What area code do we now have hose in?

My first job after leaving App was in banking as a commercial lender. One thing you learned was you can always count on two types of people being hard workers: people who grew up in the restaurant business and people who grew up on farms.
I can't predict how much success Coach Sharp will have at App, but I believe she'll work her heart out to bring the Lady Mountaineers back to prominence.

I attended the CLT Mountaineer gathering last Thursday and met her. She seems to be a really good fit, is quite personable, and has immediately embraced the Black and Gold culture and pronounces Appalachian correctly.
After watching her presser last Friday I think we have a real winner in Boone to lead the women to greater heights.

We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

Seems to be already hitting the ground running landing a top D2 player in the South East. The young lady E. Hege should have had App State offer out of high school but previous staff only offered a walk-on opportunity, and her father played at App State. New staff need to also offer L Norman twins as dad also played at App State, they are talented as well.

Re: New WBB coach: Alaura Sharp
Believe it or not, who your dad is doesn’t automatically gift you a D1 scholarship. Hege was more than likely not ready for this level out of high school. 16 of her team’s 33 points against Duke this year is very promising. She’s a Mountaineer now. I hope she scores a billion.
Sharp & Co will need some time to settle in. It will be interesting to see what kinds of athletes they bring in. The Sun Belt was won with SEC transfers last year though. That says a lot. A step above the Big South athletically, IMO.

Re: New WBB coach: Alaura Sharp
Faith Alston jumped in the portal this week, so this team will have to be built from the ground up. Bit surprising after Faith attended Sharp's introduction presser. Maybe it wasn't a good fit?

I am more than aware. I was saying she along with others are definitely caliber of player for App but previous staff really missed on many NC kids.RiversRunsThroughIt wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 8:42 amBelieve it or not, who your dad is doesn’t automatically gift you a D1 scholarship.
