He was likely going to be redshirted next season at App anyway, according to a very reliable source. Not sure why other than maybe needing to add muscle. I thought he had a huge ceiling, but also didn’t see any other offers for him.

I look at like everything else in the world. It’s ever evolving. I wonder what the situation is here? Was he asking to leave because of something he did or something that happened on campus? If Kerns thinks he is just trying to go to a bigger program I would make him sit out a year.

Still have plenty of time to fill his spot. Find some experience or a shooter. Can never have enough shooting.

Our FT shooting percentage will be better this year, that's for sure. Just watched a couple of videos of our guys shooting free throws and everyone looked pretty good from the line. Also don't have Abson and X which automatically raises the percentage 10+ points.

Thanks. So the player was OK coming to App but couldn't academically qualify for Coastal, if I'm reading that right?
This seemed like a crappy way of treating a recruit.
EDIT: I'm talking more about trying to get him to decommit. If you think he's not a right fit anymore, I'd say cut him loose instead of forcing him to make that decision.

This just reeks of two sides of the story.
My guess, and this is 100% a guess, is the real reason he was let go of his NLI was because of grades.
We all know he's not getting in here and being rejected from Coastal. Unless things have changed, App basketball has a STRICT no non-qualifiers allowed after the Capel disaster so that would not be an option.
I could be way off but that's how it seems to me.
