This is how it's going to be. The first two days of the tournament included the usual feel good wins for the loser to mid tier mid majors. Things got back to normal this weekend. There is virtually zero chance a mid mid major type program is going to put together two or more seasons like we had. It's going to be the same cycle, find a few JUCO or unhappy players who sat the bench at a higher tier school and maybe win 20+. Let the fan base believe that you are better than you really are, get close but no cigar. Then watch the good players leave for the cash. Then try to start over. Oh and hope the coach doesn't leave for triple his salary.

We got suckered into believing we had something special developing. Well, we did have this year. The last two weeks have been a real downer.

As a Coach, if you're planning to come back to the same school, this just has to be so frustrating, just like for the fans. Work hard to build this up and it all disintegrates within a week of the end of the season and you have to start over. Whole lot of holes on this team now - Gregory, Huntley, Spillers, Abson, Hayes (thought he would contribute next year). Guess we'll have to wait on the next ones to go.

One surprise in that group. Two that weren’t going to play for different reasons. Unfortunately the list might grow. As I have said in the past , you build a roster one year at a time today. Free agency. Money. Money. Money.
