We are righting the ship in athletics by dominating stink, let’s strengthen our academics, now. I see the state of GA. has proposed a dental school for stink. We are a better school than stink. We should push for more post grad and professional programs. Heck, Wingate even has a Pharmacy School in Hendersonville!?!?!? Always good to beat the stink!

To start, landing funding for professional programs (medical/law/dental) is a multi-year marathon, not a sprint.

To make it happen, you need a university Chancellor who is well respected and passionate about professional program creation. They must also willing to lobby, negotiate, fight, beg, borrow & steal to make it happen...and all without lighting themself on fire in the process.

Everts is not that Chancellor: she's looking retirement in the face and I doubt she has the energy/passion to pursue making this happen. On top of that, the debacle called "App State Hickory" has destroyed her credibility with the UNC BOT and the NC Legislature. Maybe when she graces us with her departure, App will go outside to recruit a dynamic Chancellor who would be willing to take up this fight.

I'm actually not looking for another argument. But much of post is not factually accurate. In many ways Everts has improved the relationship with the Board of Governors and the legislature is quite supportive of the Hickory campus. Once again, rather than secret sources, I point to the public record. The legislature has appropriated $41 million for the Hickory campus.

Re: Hickory, let’s just say the pro formas for that project were VERY optimistic. It’ll be a while before we can determine whether or not it will be successful. By that time, Everts will be long gone.

I've heard this same refrain from people who talk regularly to the football coaches. Those people (the people who talk to coaches) love to pile on Everts for every little transgression. I've found it grating, especially from certain podcasters who never liked her from day one because her name wasn't Ken Peacock.

There are legitimate reasons to criticize Everts (dealing with the faculty, time spent in Boone, etc). But very few have come from this group.

I know most of our head coaches and several assistants, a few I count as friends. Never a negative word . Would they all like more resources? Of course. It’s something we discuss frequently. All are complimentary of the support they receive and seem to understand the big picture. Perhaps there are those that feel differently. Not everyone is going to be content regardless.

Shame on the Bride and Groom for scheduling a wedding during BASKETBALL season . With baseball on the horizon these weddings might be subjected to three months during the summer for us App fans.

This one the bride and groom care nothing about sports. The next one either as it is on the first Saturday of the NCAA tourney in March.

Heard same thing. I don't like that she steps in to hog some spotlight and ride their coattails when they do something. I don't want to see her at the tournament holding up the trophy if we win if she has not been regularly attending basketball games. I don't listen to any App State podcasts. Is Big C among them or are there others?

Definitely is hard to follow a legend. I personally don't expect her to be exactly like that but I would like to see her embrace athletics more and treat the coaches better.

And App State came into the game 2nd in the nation in Defensive Rebounds
And T-16th in Win Percentage
And 23rd in Scoring Margin
And 24th in Bench Points Per Game
And 36th in Rebound Margin

All of those are top 32 which should help get an at-large, I know it will not do that , but it should be considered.

because top-to-bottom the SB sucks. If we had this record in say, the A-10, we'd have a much better chance.

Despite haven beaten them twice JMU has a NET of 63, while we sit at 76. They don’t have the bad losses we do. If we both win out until the championship game, they as a loser there would likely get a better look as a at large than us as the loser. Though neither probably gets an at large.
