I really like Kerns but he acts a little too cool. I want him to show energy. Our teams never look like they are going as hard as they can. I don’t want their hair on fire, but we should be playing harder. The last possession sums it up for me. We didn’t force them to pick it up and then Played no defense. I can’t respect that. Have some pride. At least play hard.

4-5 in games decided by five. This is an average team, can play with anyone outside the top 75, and can lose to anyone in the top 200.

When the opponent takes the ball in under our basket and you simply let them roll the ball to half court it's the same as them taking the ball in at the same half court. We didn't need a time out to discuss basic in bounds defense. More than half of our possessions involved difficult shots.

Unfortunately, this just seems to be nature of App basketball. We look like we have perhaps found our way and then we come home and drop a close one. Its hard to really get too excited because we are so up and down. One never knows. The talent is there to beat anyone in the Belt and to lose to anyone in the Belt.

Well we deserved to lose this game. Same ol same ol with missed FT’s and blowing a double digit lead. We are a decent middle of the pack Sunbelt team. I expect to make the Sunbelt tourney and lose the first or if we are lucky the second game.
Would be a shame if we had a 4* sitting on the bench…oh wait.

Clearly those stars don’t mean jack once you step into a college setting in a different system than you played in high school. The number one player in the country coming out of high school is averaging 2 points a game in college (at Duke). Our leading scorer/best ball handler/best shooter played D2 ball.

Boykin is a beast, 2nd best player.

Not sure who you’re talking about the #1 player was nick smith at arkansas averaging 9.
#2 was whitehead at duke also averaging 9. filipowski 14 ppg at duke. lively 4ppg at duke.

Can’t score if he doesn’t play. We can just keep going .500 and stalling out on offense or try something different. Tonight was really on coaching though the last possession. Gave em a free uncontested possession.

Lively was #1 in many lists, publications, etc. didn’t realize that had increased his average to a whopping 3.9 points, but he’s more of a defensive presence anyway. My point remains that the stars and accolades don’t always translate to expectations.

You must not have watched him play when he got in during garbage time. Lots of potential but obviously not ready for a big role this year.

Nope, not ready for a big role. Neither was teasett, and look how that ended. Would like to see a few mins here and there from teasett or xavion/mantis’ minutes. Someone has to give us a spark

Although 12 scored quite a few points last night, their guard play was the key. They were not hesitant to take it to basket when there was an opening and made key 3s. Made it easier for 12

Once a couple of our bigs develop some scoring acumen in the paint and realize how big they are things could improve there. Missed FT's and gimmes from like 3' and in that are missed were killer- again.

In the past we have had trouble starting and had to come back quite often. It seems we have fixed that, but now we can't finish. It's frustrating. I'm so tired of us allowing a team to roll the ball almost to half-court late in games. There should have been pressure in the backcourt after we tied. It should have been set up during the timeout. At times, it seems like the team's basketball IQ is lacking. Oh well, on to the next one. Coach 'em up Kerns.

This right here. Would love any presence of a big man in the post as an offensive option. I feel Abson will get there and has shown flashes here and there. I do wish Huntley was more aggressive around the basket. He thrives on being a spot up three point shooter and crashing the boards but have not seen him take the ball in the post and make a basket consistently or at all. Probably not his game but I am interested to see how Abson develops into a true post big man for us.

Unfortunately, Gregory and Boykin will be gone by then. Is this Gregory and Boykin's last year or are they eligible to return?

I was at the game so let me start with saying I don't think APP can do anything else to improve the game atmosphere. It is there and ready to be enjoyed. Very few students were there. That being said the people that were there were very loud. If we ever do fill the place up it will be a huge home court advantage. It is a great basketball arena.

Players played hard and I think Kerns is the answer but I swear a timeout at the end to put in our defensive 5 best was a MISSED opportunity. Go Apps...take the stairs. Anyone not going to the games is missing out.

I think we were out of timeouts after we scored to tie. I wish I was close enough to Boone to attend bball games.
