Apps win! After I made the comment that we needed 4 more FT's (with like .51 left) I didn't literally mean that was ALL we needed. That's all we scored the rest of the game. No lead is big enough apparently but a win is still a win.

Great win and thank you again to CJ. Our inbounds efficiency and refs incompetence cost me some years tonight.

We need to spend this whole week working on inbound plays. It really should not be this hard. I would start by stacking near the base line not at half court. We spend two of our 5 seconds getting to half court to set up our inbound play.

I’m not taking anything away from this win, it was gritty, but I do think JMU’s record was bloated from a really easy schedule. They have not beaten anyone good but Marshall.

App won, my son got pictures with Gregory and Huntley after the game. We got to high five the team as they went into the tunnel after the game, I dislike JMU the way most hate the Stink...it was a great day, and it's great to be a Mountaineer.

How about we got the freaking W on the road against a strong opponent. By the way students were gone and they still had more fans in the stands than we have groaners on the board and home games combined. I didn’t like everything either but we prevailed and got it done. Great D holding one of the nation’s highest scoring teams down. Appreciate and applaud

Anytime we beat a team in purple is a great day. Glad you and your son had a great night!

Kerns had this team ready to play JMU on only a couple of days of practice and or meetings. I think he will know what we need to work on after tonight. Give some credit where it’s due.

I'll take it. We play Rock Fighting real good at times. Ain't pretty, but it gets the job done.

Georgia Southern and Troy at home this week. Two big ones.

It was a big win and they played hard. I am not sure but it seems like our first win on one of the three ESPN mothership stations in a long time. Go App ..take the stairs. As I have said before....this team is easy to pull for. They give it 120%.

We were double-digit underdogs, had 'em by 20 at one time, held on for a 9 point win. Maybe the last 4:00 wasn't a masterpiece but this team is exciting, rebounds like crazy, hits FTs, play 9-10 players, and gives 100% every game. Any win is a good thing and it being a road win over a purple team is even sweeter.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

Last win was the Sun Belt Title game in 2020 on ESPN2, then ESPNU for UNCC earlier that year.

Before that, likely while in the SoCon.

Right before we sealed the deal I checked the ESPN Win Probability. Even past the 10 min mark in the 1st half and having scored over double the points of JMU and only then did the probability get to 50/50 and as soon as JMU scored to make it 22-12 the odds were back to JMU. After that it stayed with us but still, not giving us much respect.

Who even generates those running odds during the game?

I assume it is an algorithm that looks at rankings, current score/0point differential, and in game performance of each team to account for teams having a bad night I imagine some statistician studied a few years/decades worth of games. Cray computers still exist as part of Hewlett-Packard Enterprise. That would be easy work for a TOP500 type computer. Of course I would be curious how accurate it is at the start, quarter, and 1/2 mark. I know it was WAY wrong with barely more than a minute to go in at least one football in week three.

Aside from Coastal, we've played or will play the league leaders thus far. To be 2-2 at this point is hopeful.
