Corporate Sponsorships?

On the Sunbelt message board someone posted a video of all the conference basketball arenas. Some of them were named for corporate sponsors such as banks etc. Could we sell the naming rights to the Holmes Center to generate money for athletics or for academics / athletics? Believe some have done this with their football stadiums as well. Just curious.

Lowes or Home Depot could win the loyalty of a lot of App State folks if they would step up to the plate. Don't we have an Alum that is married to a high level HD executive?

Co-founder Arthur Blank's ex-wife is an App grad.

Hopefully Home Depot. Lowes is awful.

Maybe she will do like Bezo's or Gates exes and start giving the fortune away. App should get first in line🤣

Corporate sponsors are fine and I will take their money but I am calling anything they slap their name on by something other than their name.

I still refer to the SF Giants as playing in Candlestick Park and if I am in a bad mood I will refer to it as Seals Stadium. If I am having a really bad day it will be referred as the Polo Grounds. But it is never AT&T Park out of my mouth.

Cookout makes all the sense in the world. Headquartered in Thomasville, 324 locations with locations all over NC. Combine naming rights with them taking over as the sole food vendor in the Stadium. Show me the money!!!

I like Cookout but I don't want that to be the only food choice.

In all honesty, we should have a corporate sponsor. Take whatever we can on a short term deal and add that to the budget. Every bit helps.

Maybe The Biltmore Company? One of the largest employers in Western NC...known best for The Biltmore Estate but also includes Biltmore Winery and other businesses. I may be wrong, but I think one of the owners, Dini Cecil Pickering is married to an Appalachian graduate: George Pickering. I thought I read once that their son also went to App...maybe played on the football team? I may be wrong. Regardless, it could be a good option for them to advertise in the region where a lot of potential customers are located.

Bill Cecil was a player here. His dad I believe runs/ran Biltmore Estate.

Thanks. The Cecil family actually owns the company too.
