“We almost never make a 3 without the ball moving first.” CharlotteApp05

As is true with every team. Players need to touch the ball, feel like they are a part of the action, involved, and they’ll play better at the other end. Cut the dribbling and move the ball and move people - that’s ball that is fun to watch.

The dynamic of basketball is interesting. In football certain positions are rarely going to have an opportunity to score, mainly linemen. They have to take pride in doing their jobs to help the team win. My sons played baseball all the way through high school. Those who have been involved in this sport have seen games where a certain fielder might not have one ball hit to them and sometimes you might get only a couple of legit opportunities at the plate. In basketball some guys (usually bigs) might only be in the lineup for defense and rebounding and might get a garbage bucket. A great team has guys who understand and embrace their rolls and a great coach helps deliver this message but at the same time can get all of the players on the floor involved. You don't need one or two guys gunning and dominating the offense or the other guys might check out.

Xavion Brown has a real chance to lead this team, and conference, in scoring.
He’s actually never been known as much of a scorer, not even in high school (partly due to talent around him)….averaged 9 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, in HS. But shot 54% due to all the close range shots and dunks. He is just a freak athlete and lockdown defender…not much of a shooter.

A better winning percentage than football…

Just wanted to bump this thread since I feel like moving on from football season. Our bball team currently shows much more grit and heart than our “flagship” sport. I think we’re a basketball school this year.
Bump again.

Let’s get behind Kerns and a team with an upward trajectory. Yeah, the new look sun belt will be tougher, etc etc. but I guarantee you Kerns and company will fight until the end.

Kerns has done a good job so far. He dove into a dumpster fire and has pulled out some really good things. I REALLY hope we show something the next two games. This is a real opportunity for our basketball team, Furman is good and at Charlotte. Let's get up those stairs!
