Re: Bahamas Basketball
Our marketing team is vastly behind
Tons of hoops teams taking trips this year and have photographers with the team, video coverage of highlights, and documentary style clips shared on social media.
We get an iphone video filmed in the lobby of a hotel of coach kerns talking about what happened in the game played

Norris Bain runs basketball in the Bahamas. Now there’s a great guy. I think they have one high school. Not sure.

Who is going to pay for a camera crew to follow the team? Limited budget requires baby steps.HurricaneYosef wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 7:21 amOur marketing team is vastly behind

Re: Bahamas Basketball
Our football team has a team of 6-12 student helpers in the video department. I'm sure one would have gladly accepted a free trip to the Bahamas to provide pictures and videos like we are getting out of fall camp currentlyAppStateNews wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 11:32 amWho is going to pay for a camera crew to follow the team? I don't disagree it could be better. And it will be sooner than later. But, we need to be patient while the budgets start getting more and more balanced.

How many team managers came on the trip, if multiple then there was space for someone in the social media space as well.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 11:43 amWho is going to pay for said students flight, lodging, food, etc?HurricaneYosef wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 11:38 amOur football team has a team of 6-12 student helpers in the video department. I highly doubt it's a cost issue is what i'm getting at
We just aren't using the resources we have properly or are being stubborn and not accepting help if it's being offered

It's definitely a cost issue. If you think you can run the budget better, I'm sure they wouldn't mind your help.

Heres a Sun Belt example since I know Auburn obviously has tremendously more resources than us.
Troy went to Costa Rica. A photographer of some kind with them, also getting graphics with scores from their games.

Troy has also been fully funded from their booster club for well over 10 years. This is the first year we are fully funded. Again, it takes patience and baby steps.HurricaneYosef wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 11:55 amHeres a Sun Belt example since I know Auburn obviously has tremendously more resources than us.

Re: Bahamas Basketball
I believe basketball has a staff position that is responsible for photo/video. The App State Basketball Facebook page has some good photos and a video of Coach Kerns' recapping the game. App State Basketball twitter has posted photos as well.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 11:32 amWho is going to pay for a camera crew to follow the team? Re: Bahamas Basketball
Hmm....just noticed that. Considering we've been using that for 2 years, I don't know how they would be unaware that was our unofficial tagline.

Re: Bahamas Basketball
They started using it when Scott Cross started there, around the same time Kerns arrived at App.
As far as not seeing anything, I've seen this.

Re: Bahamas Basketball
Scott Cross used "take the Stairs' when he was HC at UT Arlington, he also is quoted in a book telling how he came up with it by Jon Gordon years ago I think, maybe some other author... Kerns took it from the book. it's not a kerns original.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 12:59 pmHmm....just noticed that.
