It will be interesting to see who emerges as the top 7-8 guy rotation as the season progresses.

Doubt there would be interest on his part, but Joey Baker from Duke would be a huge missing piece for us. Experience, and a decent long range shooter. Could definitely get the minutes he is looking for at App

my prognostications are....

starters:
1- Boykin
2- Eads (spot up shooter) or Brown (defensive stopper) or Harcum (maybe a combo?) or Mantis (spot up shooter) or Littleton
(combo guard) or potentially a newcomer transfer
3- Gregory
4- Huntley
5- Pearson

next 5:
1- Littleton
2- Brown/Harcum/Eads
3- Mantis/Eads/Ogletree
4- Walker
5- Abson

This is similar to Hurricane's predictions, although I don't see Walker as a post player. He looks like an athletic stretch 4/wing. Also, don't forget Abson, a 6'9" post player with skills and what appears to be lots of upside.

Like Mantis a ton, needs to improve tremendously on the defensive end.

Has the highest hill to climb in comparison to Eads, Brown, and Harcum in my opinion.

If he climbs it, will speak volumes to the work he has put in

Defensive stopper could used for Eads as well. A true "3 and D" guy on the wing. If he can add volume to his scoring.....All Sun Belt potential

Updated to reflect the Carvell Teasett news

0 scholarships remaining. Roster looks set unless we have some unexpected transfer or player getting dismissed from the program

Back to my way too early starting line up / rotation prediction. This is what I would guess based on the roster as of today. Guy's have all summer and fall to improve and earn their way into (or out of) the rotation

C: Tamell Pearson / Dibaji Walker
F: CJ Huntley / Michael Eads / Dibaji Walker
F: Donovan Gregory / Michael Eads
G: Carvell Teasett or Zocko Littleton / Xavion Brown or Terence Harcum
G: Tyree Boykin / Xavion Brown / Terence Harcum

I think Teasett and Boykin come in expecting to start (assuming they put in the work and learn the system of course). Would not be surprised if one of Brown/Eads/Harcum earn a starting role over one of them though. With another guard addition i'd say that makes it a tougher hill for Mantis to climb as I referenced before.

Would not be surprised to see freshmen Abson or Ogletree redshirt (if that's even a thing anymore in this new era of college hoops lol)

The roster has been updated on the App State Athletics page. A few notes:

Jersey Numbers:
3 Tamell Pearson
4 Zocko Littleton
12 Carvell Teasett
13 Bryson Ogletree
24 Quinn Hafner
30 Tyree Boykin
35 Dibaji Walker

Andrew Muse has changed from #12 to #5, taking over Almonacy's old number.

Michael Moore who was a walk on is no longer on the team it appears. His walk on spot has been replaced by incoming freshman Quinn Hafner. Hafner will wear the same # as Moore: 24. Moore was also removed from last years roster if you click to the 2021-22 page.

Assuming all Seniors this year graduate and don't return for a covid bonus year we will have 4 scholarships to use this next recruiting cycle. (Pearson, Gregory, Boykin, & Walker would be the 4 graduates). We could have Gregory and Walker return, but Boykin and Pearson are for sure 1 and done.

In reference to the updated prelim roster for '22-'23, you seem to have omitted #21 frosh 6-9 235 post Justin Abson.

BTW, which teams are already on campus for summer conditioning? The softball team has been back for at least 10 days. Some are taking summer school classes. What other teams are back now? When will the other teams report?
If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!
