I’m forcing myself to stay up late and watch Murray St to pay for my sins of the past.

There is no doubt that he was checking the boxes post game. Kerns has not done enough to leave, but I hope he can progress the program again next year.asu66 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 7:48 pmSpot on, Jerry. Kerns' comments on the post-game show last night, in my opinion, were those of a coach who was tired, dejected, disillusioned and ready to take a walk. Maybe he bounced back today. I wasn't on campus and I didn't run into anyone who had conversation with him. I do believe that this is a bullet we'll be fortunate to dodge over the next two months.hapapp wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 5:01 pmKerns looked to leave last year. I was referencing that possibility again this year.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 2:18 pmI'm really just asking: you think coaching is an issue?hapapp wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 5:12 amAll one has to do is see the score to know we were in trouble. We aren't likely to win many high scoring games. While it's one of the more disappointing performances in a long while, it's hardly the most devastating. It certainly does raise a lot of questions about the future of the program, both players and coaching staff.
The second bullet we'll be fortunate to dodge is player attrition. Right now we expect to return Gregory, Duhart, Huntley, Eads, Brown, Mantis, Harcum and Glushkov. We have Littleton and Abson on the way. Not all of those guys are D-I players right now. Will they develop enough in the next seven or eight months to make an impact in November? Is there enough promise there to encourage Delph to return as a Super Senior?
What if Gregory and Huntley decide to hit the portal for greener pastures? What if Delph graduates and opts to move on as a grad transfer? Who do we have with the talent and experience to replace them in the line-up? More bullets to dodge.

The worst lost in my view, maybe not due to competition level but just the whole situation was having a celebration for the football team after the 05 or 06 or 07 season. I think it was the 07 season. Nice crowd to see the football team if not the basketball team. We are up on Elon by 20 or so and we lose. MBB does have a long history of laying an egg when a good crowd comes out to support the program or they have an opportunity to build on some momentum. Hopefully the students bring it again next year.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

I was there but the meltdown against Charleston in the SoCon tourney when we had , finally ,far and away the most talented squad in the conference and the best ever assembled in Boone. Absolute choke job.

Wonder where our program would be today if we had hired Matt McMahon when we should and could have?
