Personally, if we have 2 seed locked I would like to see players rest given the number of minutes played per game this year. Only conference tournament matters now

We’ve locked a top 4 spot with the win last night. If Troy beats TXST and we lose, we would trade spots with Troy for third place. 1-0 against Arky St.

So being 2 or 3 does not matter. If chalk, 2 plays 3 regardless. I would be playing a ton of players Friday night ...and still hope we go 1-0!

Re: MBB @ Arkansas State, Fri 2/25 7pm
Play to win the game first and foremost. If guys are healthy then keep letting them do their thing the way they have been doing it and maintain that mentality. We won’t play again till next Saturday so plenty of time to recharge. Coach Kerns has been judicious in practices to keep their legs so keep the formula. Nothing wrong with getting a couple more into the equation if it allows but keep the rhythm this team has.
Just ask Lefty or Len Elmore if Maryland benefited from resting guys back in the day when only the Tournament Champ made the Big Dance from the ACC.

Of course, seeding could make a difference based on the match up we face in the quarters. So, it could make a difference whether are 2nd or 3rd. Moreover, you play every game to win.

I’d like face GA St on as fresh of legs as possible so let’s get paired with them for the semis.

Careful what you ask for as they have won 6 in a row and seem to have found their game. I’m not scared of anyone in the league, just recognizing momentum. Win and advance. Go Mountaineers!

I get what you say about momentum and that’s why I want this team sprinting towards the tournament. We’ve seen what happens in football and basketball when we take our foot off of the gas. Besides, this league is a could lose to anyone or beat anyone league. There’s just not a lot of separation hence the importance of momentum.

Definitely want the win tonight. Go all out for win #19 so that we're only one away from a 20 win season.

Exactly. Momentum is EVERYTHING right now. Play hard. Play to win.
Does anyone follow the talking heads? Are we at all being mentioned as a sleeper for an at large? (I doubt it but I don’t follow the cbb pundits and you never know)

If we don't win the SBC tournament then a NIT bid with a first round home game would be pretty sweet.
SBC championship and a NCAA berth is the only goal though.

We need to win tonight for a chance at an NIT invite if we don't win the Sunbelt tournament.
I think if we finish second (regular season) and make it to the finals of the SunBelt Tournament we will get an invite. Maybe if we make it to the quarterfinals.
Of course I would rather have the NCAA but the NIT would be more entertaining. We would play teams that would be good matchups.

Re: MBB @ Arkansas State, Fri 2/25 7pm
I am hoping that App is on a roll going into the tournament. Beating Arkansas State would be a great confidence boost. I'm just of the opinion a team should always play to win regardless of the "lock" we have on top 4.
Georgia State is definitely the hot team right now. I was at the game in Boone and frankly we can beat them if we aren't ice cold shooting again, like we were in the first half of that game. Our D played them well. App can beat anyone in the conference if we are on.
GO Apps!
