Someone that is a fan of Michigan State posted that the two times App State made it to the tournament that Michigan St won the tournament so they were glad to see us make it back.

The fear of doom from Y2K was still fresh in our minds. The millennium was awesome haha.

The not-yet-finished Holmes Center was simply the Convocation Center, or sometimes the Complication Center.

Well I was in fourth grade and had no bills so that was pretty cool

My life was so incredibly different, I won't even go into it.

App football was still 4 years from implementing the spread.

The Twin Towers stood, and I had just been accepted to Appalachian State University.

I was completing my last semester of course work for my MA at App and pondering applying for a job on campus to keep me there a little longer (finished undergrad in 97) since my now wife was still there as well as current brother in law. Ended up taking a job at Elon later that year, but only stayed 8 months. Burlington/Elon culture was not my cup of tea. I was a student at App during 3 of Buzz’s seasons, so enjoyed some good basketball. I used to walk down Pine Street, across from the campus sign, to classes when it still existed.
