Re: Women v Chat semifinal
Chatt had 5 fouls in the 2nd half...didn't pick up their first until after the 10:00 mark. The refs were pretty bad...we benefited from a number of questionable calls as well...but there was a lot of banging inside that always seemed to be called on us. Mocs made 22 FTs, we shot 11 of them. Difference in the game right there. We outshot them from the field and from three.
This was a really good performance. They played with a lot of intensity. R. Gary had the game of her life. Unfortunately, the Mocs put the clamps on Anna and to a lesser extent, Maryah. They certainly played well enough to win today.

Like what Darcie had to say in the postgame:
Appalachian State
Head coach
Darcie Vincent
Opening statement ...
“I don’t know how many of you guys were around last year, but when I sat up here last
year after our loss in the tournament, we were the more talented team and we lost because we didn’t fight in the game. It’s an honor and I’m very proud. These kids gave every ounce, every minute of every second of every tear that they played today. You’re not going to win them all, but you’re certainly not going to lose them all, either. But I am so proud of our effort; we left everything out on that floor today. Scoreboards are what they are and someone always has to win and lose. One thing we always say is that we’ve won a lot of good games this season, like good execution but we just haven’t fought. I am not as proud of those wins as I am sitting here right now. I am so proud of how these young ladies played that game today. We had to fight through a lot of adversity yesterday, we had to fight some adversity today, and they just kept on fighting and kept on making plays. At the end of this long journey and being with these kids for four years and where we are, I am extremely sad that it is ending but I cannot tell you how proud I am of how we just ended this journey.”

I was going to post this myself and the way the PDF file was letting me cut and paste was not working. Glad someone else was able to do that. She did say the right things here I think.
