App State men's basketball will look for a weekend sweep on Saturday afternoon at Sun Belt leader Little Rock. Tip is set for 3 p.m. EST on ESPN+ and the Appalachian Sports Network from Learfield IMG College. The Apps need to hit open shots, rebound on both ends of the floor and play defense for 40 minutes. Hunter Seacat, James Lewis and Kendall Lewis need to use their ups and length to keep the LR bigs under control. Forrest, Williams and Delph MUST play strong "D" and hit for percentage. Seacat can be the difference if he's on his game--finishing at and around the rim and staying out of foul trouble. Tall order against LR's giants, I know, but he's plenty capable...

We get the win as a birthday present for our favorite coach.

Looking at season home attendance number we’ve surpassed 2,000 twice. 11/21 vs Charlotte and 1/18 vs Little Rock. Looks like we’re averaging around 1,500 on the season. We’ve got three +.500 teams left on the home slate this year. We need to show out for this team.

App up 22-18 at 11 minute mark in the 1st half.

Stoolich (sp?) is killing us with 3’s. They move the ball so well.

Their PG reminds me of Ed Cota, there is just something beautiful about a pure passing PG.

That's about the nicest way you can say that. But that was a really good first half of basketball.

Excellent first half. Down 44-40 to a team that’s playing excellent offensive ball.

Down 44-40 at the half. I’m not expecting a victory today (though I could enjoy an upset), but there is no denying our improvement on the offensive end.

Hard to believe a team can be losing at halftime after shooting 75% from the field.

Law of averages likely catch up to us. LR is just so long, best team I’ve seen in conference.

We are vastly improved though, keep fighting in the second half guys.

How many men’s basketball scholarships does LR offer? How many does App State have to work with?

Yah we played well in first half, couple more rebounds and we’d have the lead. Second half has been tougher.

Troy bearing Georgia St is super helpful though. Keeps that second seed very much in play.

Flagrant foul call was trash. JF made contact with the ball.

What happened to our stout defense? We have a certain wing player that makes quite a few low IQ plays and then hangs his head. That’s one thing I’ve noticed is that we haven’t quite gotten over some of the body language issues from the last few years when things don’t go well. It’s a work in progress, though.
