calm down

If I told you a month ago we would be 3-2 in the SoCon, what would you say?
Did tonight suck? Hell yeah. Awful. Embarrassing. A choke job. All of the above.
I still feel pretty good about this team. Realistically, we are a year away from being very good, but we are starting to be highly competitive which is more than we can say for the first portion of the season.
We've got the pieces to do some damage in this conference. Can't say enough about the way Healy has been playing. Heck of a senior season for him.
The quick turnaround can be a positive like Baskin tweeted earlier. With a win at division leader Samford, we will be right back in the thick of things in the North Division. Two directions a team can go after a tough loss like this. Looking at the Sagarin ratings, teams appear to be about even.
Huge game Saturday with Ga Southern & Davidson on deck next week.
Let's see what happens...

I think we should do exactly the opposite. After two crappy lackluster years and now this game among others, who truly believes that Coach Capel could coach his way out of a wet paper bag?

Root for failure while we're still in contention. Nice...
Guess you completely missed the 5 game winning streak Capel just had. Reminds me of Panthers fans regarding Armanti: ignore the good things he has done this season because you want him cut to make a point. If we're not gonna support the coach during the good times and call for his head every time he slips up, then this is truly one of the more no-win situations in Division I basketball.
Beat Samford and we're right back on track.

Five game winning streak over teams with RPI's of 186, 250, 338, 345 and a NAIA team.

Do me a favor and call it a three game win streak. Milligan is NAIA, though they could probably beat Presbyterian.

App will win the remaining games where there is a significant talent gap and that can't press us.
I expect a .500 SoCon from here out as there are some very bad teams in the league.
I agree our talent level is getting better, but our ball handling must improve.

How about all the losses? Do they just evaporate because of a "five game winning streak"? Does it really matter if you win 5 in a row or if they are spread out? Can Coach Capel coach? We all know the answer to that. He isn't a coach, that simple.

So, looking at the other thread and this one.. What I am getting is if I am cheering for my team regardless of their record and a bad collapse on the road, I am automatically in the "lollipop guild" and too incompetent to see how horrible we really are?
Or maybe, just maybe, I bleed black and gold and will cheer for my team regardless of what is going on. Even if we are winless in any sport, you bet your butt I am going to be cheering for my team every chance I get.
Yes, it was a bad loss. No, we are not a great team. No, we likely won't make any noise in the NCAA tournament this year. No, the season is not over...
and HELL YES I WILL BE CHEERING ON THIS TEAM REGARDLESS OF RECORD!

To anyone with photo shop skills the No Equal basketball poster is begging to be replaced with Capel's picture and In-Cape-Able printed across the bottom.

Who is calling for people to stop cheering for the team?

That's how I am seeing the "world is over.. our basketball team just blew a 19 point lead" mentality many have on here.. if that's not the case, good.. but don't belittle people when they point out the good that are among the bad.

This game hurt but I will never stop cheering for the team or the coach.
I cant wait to go next weekend to see the Mountaineers kick some McKillop ass. If the team can't get it done, I will do my best in the stand to distract the Wildcats.

Exactly. I don't remember anyone saying anything of the sort. The closest I've come is to coin a parody of the "Football isn't Working" sticker.

There you go....Scatman i need you.....I am going into a mental collapse....I thought we banned his name for the MMB? Come on Nate!
But what you are thinking is "
App Basketball ain't Capalable"?
I do not like it...but I repect it....the MW reference is just so painful, because I had to live with being around him daily!

Sorry, I didn't mean to give you and Scat a performance enhansing drug flashback, but I had to drag him out to make a point. Think. There might be a young trainer/future educator for the Cannapolis City Schools that is suffering through basketball that isn't Capelble.
