I wonder if the state of App basketball isn't doing irreparable harm to the quest to move up. I realize the realignment process is focused on football, but damn, our basketball program is h-o-r-r-e-n-d-o-u-s and certainly not doing us any favors by offering nothing in the sporting realm from November to March.

Not only is UNCC stealing out football recruits, they're basketball team moved to 9-0 on the year. They're serious down there. It's time for Appalachian to be the same.

We've got two shots at getting a division 1 win before the new year. First is UMKC (4-5;3-5 D1) on the road seems unlikely, but not out of the question. Next is Presbyterian who is still searching for a D1 win and is getting blown out in most games. You'd thin that might be a gimmie, but they might be coming hard for us thinking its their best real shot at a D1 win.

Remember the last decade when there used to be arguments over whether we should fire our coach and there were a fair amount of people on each side . . . Its hard to believe how much we miss those days.

Now that is a great compromise. Jerry gets one Moore year and everyone lives up to the football agreement of a new coach for 2013.

He was offered a three year, six figure position at the University, maybe that was it.
