An hour or so ago, the UTA Mavs stepped off their team bus outside HCC into light flurries and an 8° and falling wind chill. UTA, the SBC squad voted most likely to succeed this season, finds themselves outside the RPI Top 100 after falling a *chilling* 36 places in the last ten days. In addition, they must be reeling from Thurs. night’s blowout loss at CCU. Hope they're still feelin' the chill at 5 PM!

Our Apps, up 12 RPI places to #274 after coming from 11 down to nip Tx State, could claim to be on a real uptick with a win this afternoon. Short an upset today, the reality will settle in that Thurs. night’s “W” was over a Bobcat team now weighing in at RPI #339 of 351 D-I teams.

Such is the sad state of Sun Belt basketball these days.

Regardless, one noted basketball ranking service has the Apps just three-point ‘dogs in today’s game. If we’re within five points of the lead with 3 minutes to play, I like our chances. Otherwise, who knows what’s just around the corner? After all, a 5-5 Wofford team owns a win over UNC (sorry folks, those big Wof wins over Johnson & Wales, Bob Jones, etc. don’t really count)!

Folks need to stop complaining and get their butts in the arena to see this team. We are owning a pretty darn talented UTA team right now. They are cold shooting, but that’s mainly due to our tough defense and active hands. I’m planning on making the 2 hour trek to Boone as much as possible this year since we’ve won almost every game I’ve attended over the last 3 years or so, including a couple against Ga State. Hope we keep the consistent play up in the second half.

There are 424 users online doing something, right now. The overwhelming majority are guests, so maybe they're stunned and unhappy UTA fans.

The rest of us are too well-schooled in ASU MBB to start crowing too soon before the final horn. This thing isn't over yet!

it will be nice to hold on and get a win here and be 2-0 in sunbelt play. Honestly this is where Fox needs to show the most improvement is Sunbelt play. I think anything under .500 in Sunbelt this year is unacceptable. I can deal with a loss to Western and Hampton if we can finally have a decent season in the sunbelt. We are certainly more talented this season than since Fox started. Its time to produce on the court. We have to learn to win on the road as well

I’m pretty convinced, after attending some games, that the locals and/or App alums just aren’t very basketball savvy. There have been a ton of great plays, especially hustle plays today, and most of the fans just sit on their hands with no emotional investment.
