UTEP game

What on Earth happens in the locker room at half time that other teams come out on a tear to start the second half? 20-2 run by UTEP has them in the lead.

That's two straight games no less. I don't know how you don't blame Fox for that. UTEP on a 32-11 run.

As others have said live and die by the 3.

We're not even taking a lot of threes this half. We're turning the ball over before we can take them.

Wasn't pretty in the second half but it is a W.

76-72 victory for the good guys. Need to work on the FTs, but it's a win over Division I competition. I'll take it and go from here.

The best part is I don't have to hear that color announcer any more.

If we can find the same intensity in the 2nd half as the first, we will be fine. As said earlier, got make those free throws. But, we got our first D1 win, so let's get back to Boone and build off this.

The late game misses at the FT line is going to cost this team some games.

We beat a D1 team and Ronshad only had 12 so I guess that’s promising

Hey good win today, glad the guy's get to leave Myrtle Beach with something to hang their hats on. Overall I think you have to say this tournament was a success. We hung tight with Iowa State, and honestly outplayed Western Michigan except for one terrible stretch to start the second half. This team is up and down so far, but the good news is at least we are seeing some "up's". They have to learn how to play 40 minutes, but I think between Shabazz, Williams, and Forrest we have enough scorers to be competitive this season. Still worried we'll struggle in the front court (Kinney needs to start playing better) but I do think this team is a bit better than the past two years.

In the three games in this tournament we were outscored by a total of 30 points in the second halves. We've got to come out in the second half with a better effort. If you recall last year we were a poor second half club. Not sure what's happening at the half that creates this second half lull. We almost let it cost us today as we blew a 10 point halftime lead. Give the guys credit, they didn't fold when down by 7 in the second half. Glad we weren't another team's first D1 win.

Winning is an improvement. This team looks like it can at least compete most nights and could show drastic improvement going forward.

Thinking we make the tournament this year! And when I say tournament, I mean the SunBelt tournament!

I think we are a "lock".

Fox and his band of men have to figure out how they can survive a "pre-Christmas" road swing through places like JMU, VCU, WCU, Howard and Ohio State and home visits from South Florida and Davidson. All of those games occur before big (6-9) Hunter Seacat becomes eligible. He has the potential to provide help inside for Kinney and Isaac Johnson. Fingers-crossed! Seacat was an all-state player in HS. He can shoot and rebound, but can he play D-I defense?

I thought Hunter would be available for OSU.

Kinney not that bad in the post but it seems we don't try inside and out rather have him just set screens. His drive from the key and dropstep scored a big basket. Showed me something.

I hope you're right. I don't have the schedule in front of me. Had lunch with DG a few weeks ago. He mentioned Dec. 18 as the date for HS to begin play for us.

We play the Buckeyes on the 16th. So if DG is correct then his first game will be at Hampton. I had heard the 16th but that sounds like it was incorrect.
