Why bother to commit? He knew Capel was soon to be gone. If you were only committing because you like a coach, that's dumb. You need to like the school first.
I'll have to disagree with you butch - my experience with college coaches recruiting my players (this is of course some years ago) is that clearly the driving factor is the relationship between player and college coach - I would say the next qualifier from my experiences is location (either to be close for family to see or to get as far away as possible because of family :o )

@Coach_Rick57 Per reliable source, if/when Devonte Graham gets release from ASU, "Don't be surprised if he ends up in Raleigh."

Graham's people need to learn when to stop talking.

I sort of get committing to the coach, but why do it when it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that coach is going to be gone at the end of the season.

This could get really interesting if we were to hire Bobby Lutz.

Just add that tweet to the body of tampering evidence.

Also we would at least ask NC State for permission to talk to Bobby...unlike what they've done with Devonte through the NC State coaches son................

From a Winston-Salem Journal article:

"Kedrick Flomo of North Forsyth and Jazmine Jones of West Forsyth were selected to the Associated Press all-state basketball teams on Wednesday.

Flomo, a 6-2 senior guard who guided North to the NCHSAA Class 3-A Western Regional championship game, averaged 30.3 points during a remarkable final prep season. Flomo has signed with Appalachian State, but according to Coach Sean Vestal of North he has asked for a release from his letter of intent and is being pursued by other college programs."

I know he has asked for his release and App is waiting on the new coach to decide, but since he has a signed letter of intent, isn't Flomo off limits to other college programs 'pursuing' him? Is this Devonte all over?

Patch is correct.

I haven't posted anything in this thread or put up anything on any of the basketball pages because of the situation. As soon as we make the hire and figure out what is happening to our recruits and current players I'll be putting info up.

Funny if he ended up at APP. Out of HS I emailed our current staff and they contacted our HC. He was told he was not athletic enough to play at App based on what the HC told me later.

I hope he does. He is one heck of a kid, player, and student. There would be no academic problems with him. He has always been under the radar but can shoot and distribute the ball. He would give us better size at the point too.

Ty came on but the other experiments at point were hot and cold.

Good Luck Tevin

Looks like both of our 2014 commits might be gone. Guess we wait on the official announcement but both are being reported, Worrell report last week and Flomo today. Graham should be next.

Alex Kline ‏@TheRecruitScoop
2014 PG Kedrick Flomo of North Forsyth (NC) has been granted his release from Appalachian State, according to @justinbyerly.

Flomo has NOT been released, despite what Flomo has said to the HS recruit rankers.

Fox is visiting Flomo in person tomorrow in W-S. Then it'll be decided.

Our last UVA transfer worked out quite well as I recall. aka Donte Minter. Great player on the court and greater person off the court. If Flomo truly wants out of his commitment, we should offer Tevon a scholarship. jmo

Future150.com is reporting Worrell has been released. They are a pretty good source for all things BBall related but we'll see if anything official comes from App.

I've seen several recent references tying Worrell and 'Bama together. Anthony Grant must be desperate to be raiding App recruits.
Proud triple-degree App grad--Classes of '66, '70 and '81.

Yeah. Me too. 'Bama people have been talking about him for a few weeks now. Just from a personal POV I'll be interested to see where he winds up.

I think that seriously undervalues Worrell's ability and potential. He's a very talented player. I wish him the best of luck and I'm sorry it didn't work out for him to come to Boone.
