Every announcer discusses the FTs, it’s a weakness, not really debatable.

For most SBC games we more than compensate for it in other ways like opponent FG%, rebounding, and blocks.

Oh and take that orange sweater boy!

UNCW wins at Charleston. That’ll help our resume.

The FT thing has been debated (to death) and yes we need to shoot better but tonight we are 13-22. If we make just 4 more nobody is saying anything so that's only 4 points and our defense covers up some of those issues.
Games are lost by single digits all the time. Free throws matter. Not a debate, just a factual observation.

Just was looking at recruiting stuff. We find the hidden gems in basketball too. We were some of our guys first offer.

What’s pretty funny is that if Kendall Lewis could have figured it out, he’d be a 5th year with Donovan…wow. Feels like forever ago.

While Absons blocks are unreal and his timing of them, I am most impressed with that floater he hit from ft stripe.

Mantis had a 6 point run early that helped get us going when we were struggling to score

I’m impressed with the margin of victory despite GSU crushing 3s after the half, we just kept answering, even if it was just 2s or 1s from the stripe

Abson had 7 blocks...that is like making 14 free throws. He is not blocking 3 point shots that are iffy. He is blocking lay ups that should be 2 points but are 0/not. Our free throws should be 2 points but end up being 1.

I think we can beat anyone right now. I wouldn't bet on us to beat anyone. However, I would not be surprised if we beat anyone and everyone.

He and the post defenders alter twice as many shots as they block. That is a huge reason for the great opponent FG% defensive ranking. So fun to watch great help side defense.

It's not surprising that both teams are shooting poorly with the how physical this game is. Refs are letting a lot go.
I was there in person. In the first half, there were 3 instances (twice against App, once against GSU) where you could hear the sound of hand slapping arm, and the refs didn’t call it. I’m ok for letting guys play physical especially down low, but you gotta call obvious fouls. Officiating was better second half.

The refs let a lot go in the first half and it benefitted GSU.

GSU had more assists than normal and made more 3s than normal, so it was good to stay ahead and get the win despite them playing better than normal.

Arena is very nice.

Spillers and Harcum came alive in the 2nd half. Great start to the 2nd half really established the tenor of the victory.

They only had 1 loss at home until last night. Rims always seem to look larger at home 🤣🤣

So true. And there was a stretch with 6 mins left in the 2nd where Spillers hits an off-balance clutch jumper, keeps the ball alive for a defensive rebound, and is first down court to score a fast break layup. Total hustle and athleticism.
