From the Arkansas State perspective... Interesting quotes from their coach.

Re: App vs Arkansas State
“You credit Appalachian State for making the plays,” Brady said. “They out-hustled us, they beat us on the offensive glass, they beat us on 50-50 balls and they out-rebounded us. Those are the plays of grit and toughness and they did it down the stretch and we didn’t so we have the disappointing loss.”
Grit, I love it! Haven't seen that is a long time. Winning could be contagious.

That last quote is something that has been incredible to see. App doesn't have the most talent or the biggest guys, but they have just battled and fought all year long. Those are the things you like to hear as a fan about your team.

You are right. We also can do it at least once for free. I know it has been mentioned on this board in the past , but remember all Football season ticket holders also received free general admission basketball tickets for one game with their football ticket package. I plan to use mine for one of the upcoming Saturday games.

These are the intangibles that Capel couldn't coach. It's that simple. We have a winner in Coach Fox.

I wasn't aware of this. Do we show ID or was there something sent to us in the ticket package?bh2oson wrote:app97 wrote:go watch this team play! they deserve our support. they're playing their butts off with few fans...imagine how they'll play when we pack the house. Jim Fox was a great hire.

Re: App vs Arkansas State
The vouchers were included in your FB season tickets. You then exchange them at the ticket office.Appftw wrote:I wasn't aware of this. Actually I remember them catching quite a few breaks in football. Without, we probably beat them by 30

I have an idea. When you get to the ticket office those that can afford it, give them the voucher but then tell them you would like to pay for your ticket in honor of the teams hard work. I am very sure that word will get back to the team.

Our RPI keeps improving....180 as of today. Only Ga State, UT-Arlington, Ga Southern, and maybe Texas St are ahead of us in Sun Belt.
Wofford is the only Socon team ahead of us at #30!
Also, looks like several teams from the Big South are ahead of the Sun Belt and Socon. (Gardner Webb and Coastal are pretty high)
I don't put lots of stock in these rankings, but it's still cool to see us moving way up in bball instead of the opposite trend that we witnessed over the last few years.

Re: App vs Arkansas State
I saw Wofford play NC State live and beat them, and watched them play Duke and hang with them for a half. Wofford is the real deal.app97 wrote:http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball ... etball-rpi

Cobb got it right. One for three in basketball. Now let's keep Fox.sixtoes9134 wrote:These are the intangibles that Capel couldn't coach. It's that simple. We have a winner in Coach Fox.
