Our Offense....dribble around, go one on one and shoot.

Our Defense....reach reach reach! do not ever get between your man and the basket.

Our Out of Bounds have to get a shot off play....run toward the ball run away from the ball....throw the ball over the top 40 feet from the basket.

Davidson ran the same offensive play to set up a three from the corner about 8 times.....we NEVER got to the shooter.

Obacha....please practice your free throws....that was just embarrassing!

At one point we had: Burgess, Trice, Obacha, Baskins, and Canty on the court. The only "scorer" we had on the court was Canty. 7-29 was the combined fg M/att. Baskins was 12-15 from the line for our ONLY bright spot!
Go APPS!

It would be great to find the Jerry Moore of basketball or someone like a Bob McKillop, who will stick around long enough to build a true program.
His name might have been Matt McMahon.
That's what I do. I gripe and I know things.

Capel isn't the answer.

But it's downright scary to think about what clown Cobb would bring in next...

The "powers that be" TOTALLY blew their golden opportunity when they let Matt Mc slip away. Matt has the heart and soul of a Mountaineer---BECAUSE HE IS ONE! He was a FANTASTIC player and definitely had the fire and passion for this program! He's outstanding on the recruiting circuit as well.

This coulda/woulda/shoulda been another Scott Satterfield situation that was given away. No vision.

Who's to say McMahon wouldn't come back? Maybe I'm missing something, but if he's the "true" Mountaineer, why would he not want to come back and coach his alma mater? If I'm missing something please let me know.

Obviously, it would not have changed the outcome in a game like this but I can cut Canty some slack for the 2-12 shooting performance. He was playing hurt and looked uncomfortable all day, even in warm-ups. An injured thumb on your shooting hand is tough to deal with and he missed a lot of shots in the paint that he usually puts in.

We need Canty to be as close to 100% as possible down the stretch. I almost think it'd be worthwhile to sit him at Charleston on Wednesday so he can be more effective at home against Western. It would hurt our depth quite a bit but Baskin is a capable replacement and we cannot afford to take any more home losses with the schedule we have remaining.

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong here but my understanding is that he is not on good terms with Charlie Cobb and might not be interested in coming back to work for him.

Matt was kicked to the curb. Would YOU want to come back?

I forget about not being on good terms with Charlie Cobb. That was completely my bad. I was also just wondering if maybe there was something else other than that.

Hurt or not he was totally out of control at times and took a lot of bad shots. Looked to me as if he wanted to do it all, just couldn't hit a shot.

I've heard the same things about Matt not liking Charlie and not wanting to work for him. He is an alum though and I feel if offered at the right price (Buzz-level money), he would come back.

Two reasons Matt won't be at ASU as long as CC is around. Cobb would have to swallow his pride and reach out to him, that isn't going to happen. After seeing first hand how Cobb handled the HF and Capel situations Matt has no desire to work for the guy.
