That's a fair point. We have had some problems getting the ball in under our own basket, though we do seem to getting better at running plays that create some space. I do agree that time and circumstance determine strategy. For me under 7 seconds, you foul. But, not being the coach, it is easy for me to make the decision.T-Dog wrote:I think "the right call" comes down to time and place. The decision to not foul on Monday felt like the right call. GaSo was forced into a low-percentage shot that miraculously went in and was unjustly rewarded with a foul.
Last night, with Monday fresh, fouling is the right choice.
You can make the right choice and have it all go horribly wrong. Even if you foul, there's other things that could go wrong on a rebound or inbound. On Monday, App had struggled late in the game on inbounds.

Re: MBB v. Troy
The right call was "no call" on the shot............Piss poor officiating considering the discuss those type of events in meetings.
As for fouling or not that is a game specific call. If the other team has been killing us on the boards and is taller then the answer is dont foul. Guard the shooter Higher likelyhood of a miss getting putback.
If the opposite is true and the ball gets in the hands of a poor foul shooter then yes foul.
