I think he was there before he went to Vandy. He came with Buzz from Vandy.JCline0429 wrote:Isn't North Greenville where Fancher was just before he came to App?
That's what I do. I gripe and I know things.

A win is a win no matter how ugly, no matter the opponent. The way this season has gone, I'll take a win over Watauga High.

Re: Re:
Yeah, it went about like I expected. I thought we'd be lucky to make enough plays to pull it out. It was a trap game with Charlotte just ahead. Our guys weren't expecting a fight from NG. The Apps were planning to rest up for Sunday and it almost got 'em.JCline0429 wrote:Not nearly as embarrassing as losing.asu66 wrote:Really, really ugly! Embarrassing!appgrouch wrote:That was ugly.

We are lucky they were coming off a game last night. Doubt we beat them if they have fresh legs. Hard to even comprehend how far we have fallen in 4 years.asu66 wrote:Yeah, it went about like I expected. I thought we'd be lucky to make enough plays to pull it out. Re: "The Crusade" in HCC: NGreenville on the march
Not that long ago, I remember one Saturday watching us defeat Stephen Curry at Davidson. App fans tailgated, packed our section of Belk Gym, and roared A-S-U as we watched the last seconds tick off the clock. Even the Charlotte Observer had a reporter there, who wrote about how it was one of the best games, and atmospheres he'd seen. I also remember watching the SoCon championship in Charlotte against Wofford. We fell short that night, but App Nation represented, as we were so close to getting to the dance.
Fast forward to tonight. A handful of fans watch a horrible game where we were fortunate to beat a sloppy North Greenville team. If there are "moral victories" this was a "moral loss." App Nation will support a good basketball program with a competent coach, but this program is approaching rock bottom, and the longer we wait to make changes, the longer it will take to correct this debacle. Wonder how many embarrassments and ESPN/Youtube moments we will have to endure between now and March?

I don't blame Capel... He clearly did not have the experience when he was hired. Should he have turned it down?Rekdiver wrote:I finally agree it's time to fire Capel.
Unfortunately we took a chance (albeit a very big one) and it has not worked out as we had hoped. I am sure everyone will be moving on after this season and hopefully we can get back on track.

Sadly, with the big donors dictating Cobb, we may not be "moving on."

Can't wait to see where we're ranked the D II poll.

I'd say we're somewhere in the middle of the pack.Kgfish wrote:Can't wait to see where we're ranked the D II poll.
