No doubt the key will be his ability to recruit. I think we all have the confidence he can coach, the key is finding the players for his system. If they can play defense that would be a plus.Saint3333 wrote:GA St has always been 20 points better than App this year which speaks to Fox's potential. Looking forward to seeing Fox with two more classes.

Our team's poor defense and poor shooting against opponents in general and against SunBelt teams in particular have been a big wake-up call for us this season. It obviously has to be of enormous concern in the basketball office. It almost goes without saying that Fox is going to have to recruit over the current soph and junior classes (Kobani and all of the juniors except Lawson). The jury is still out on his first recruiting class. He'll have to coach all of those guys up--but I haven't given up on them. He apparently intends to sign two players in the late signing period which begins April 15th.hapapp wrote:No doubt the key will be his ability to recruit. I'm not that familiar with E.Logan who signed in the early signing period, but his high school stats look good on paper. The other early signee, R.Shabazz, was a steal. If his academics prove to be in order, he will be hard to keep off the floor next season.

His first recruiting class is in progress. He scrambled to fill the roster last year and really under the circumstances found players that have contributed.

I understand what you're saying, but his signature will forever be on the LOI's signed by four of our freshmen. He always had the option to save one or more of those grants for this season. I agree that will be his first full recruiting season. I think everyone understands the revolving-player-door and time-crunch he inherited with the job.Saint3333 wrote:His first recruiting class is in progress. Have to also add a secondary consideration of the APR issue we all know about. Having to start recruiting after the initial signing day was long past but also finding student-athletes willing to come to a team with academic issues. Below are the Men's BBall Honor Roll members for last semester. Looks like many are guys he brought in. Have to climb out of the hole first, and fill it in with concrete, before you can start building the house.asu66 wrote:I understand what you're saying, but his signature will forever be on the LOI's signed by four of our freshmen. That a' boy Moose. Well done. Think Fox is/was a great hire. Just like coach Satt, doing things the right way. It is going to take some time to get where we need to be in b-ball... Lets be patient and support our teams. Good things are coming.

Correction to my comments from last night. Someone just called this to my attention. I left out a word that reversed the whole meaning of my post. The revision will clarify that I'm in agreement with you, Saint 3333. My bad.
