1/8 - MBB at Georgia State - 7pm
How many free throws will our guys miss in this one? Seriously, hire a coach who only teaches these players how to shoot free throws and we’ll win 5-6 more games a year.

You don't even need to hire a full time coach, just bring in a specialist/consultant and do a workshop or something.

I do feel like we need to rename Free Throws for our team, they are not free.

He shot 61% at Rutgers his freshman year from the stripe.
He transferred to App and played two seasons averaging 36% from the line along with shooting the most terrible free throw in the history of basketball.
Must have something to do with the water.

I foresee SBC teams employing the venerable “Hack-a-Shaq” defensive scheme against App State for the rest of the season.

Football kicks are longer, but basketball travel through the air is like half the distance based on that foul shot.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Tue Jan 06, 2026 11:37 amElevation impact on air pressure in the basketball.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Tue Jan 06, 2026 11:24 amHe shot 61% at Rutgers his freshman year from the stripe.

Opponents are already doing it. Notice how quickly Chad Moody gets fouled once he gets the ball down low. Opponents don’t worry too much about fouling our guards, either.

When you google worst free throw ever, it’s a bunch of clips of this.

IMO: Start early summer, teach good form with a coach watching and correcting as much as possible, 100 a day and chart ‘em all, can’t leave the gym until you make 10 straight, run the Tennessee Thirty drill a lot early in season and tell players you are going to do that and they’ll start shooting extra. It’s got to be fixed before official practice starts - work on individual skills in off-season and team in-season. Just my opinion.
