Re: VLU
Well the game wasn’t very good, but the whole team showing love to the bench players being interviewed after the game was special, these guys seem to really care for each other, great to see.

Re: VLU
I’m guessing Brim played because Clarke was out (not sure why). If I’m Kerns, I’d find a way to get Brim more minutes. Seems to be an underutilized arrow in our quiver.

Re: VLU
Clarke can be a good defender, but his offense seems to be nonexistent. I would like to see Brim get more minutes over Clarke and that may help fill the offense slumps we have been seeing lately.

Re: VLU
I would be willing to take a step backwards D wise to not go on 7 min scorring droughts and shoot better tahn 48% from the FT line. Time to ballance out the D and O.

Re: VLU
I agree this team needs to run to win with the limited possession game that we like to play - we don't score well enough right now to limit our scoring chances. So many possessions we shoot with 10 or less on the shot clock, I think that puts pressure on the team to score when we don't have consistent scorers. The VLU game we shot 14-44 with 3 pointers in a glorified scrimmage, granted people were taking shots that were not "regular" but dang we should shoot better in a practice game with less pressure. Also FT% this game was under 60%... man are we just in a funk or is this shades of a tough season. Really hope the funk ends after exams. We have a tepid fan base with basketball, might have a under .500 record going into January. if we don't start sunbelt play on fire the fans will quickly forget the diamond season we had 2 years ago.

Re: VLU
Going to be difficult to get HS scoring recruits with this slow it down, defensive focused scheme. Most scorers want to run and score.
UNCA has 2 guards committed that can fill it up.

Re: VLU
I don’t believe we plan to sign any high school recruits this cycle. That could change if a blue chipper came available. Otherwise we see more value in the portal.
