Ef Wake, but good for Spillers. Hope it works out for him. Enjoyed watching him play this year.

Yikes. We’re going to struggle. $150k for a bench player that hasn’t used his right hand at all last year? At a middle of the road ACC team. Wake seems desperate

Re: Spillers to Wake Forest
He brings lots of intangibles that coaches love. Offensive rebounds/putbacks, long arms and huge hands that allow him to play bigger than his 6’7” height, and he runs the floor better than any big guy I’ve ever seen at App. He just always seems to be in the right place at the right time to get easy baskets, deflections, blocks, etc. It will be a much taller task to compete in the ACC, but his effort can’t be denied.

Re: Spillers to Wake Forest
It appears that is about the going rate for SunBelt all conference players moving “ up”. Abson has interest , from SEC and BTen.I dont know the numbers but suppose it would be similar.X will graduate this semester and is trying to find something close to home. His mother has never seen him play college basketball in person. A little money will also help in affording graduate school .

All of them better know to do that but we don't need to worry about it. He made a grown man decision and I understand it because he apparently does not come from money.

Re: Spillers to Wake Forest
If he gets a WF degree and networks with the alumni he could do well for himself. That can jumpstart a decent career outside NBA. Just be smart and I wish him well.

Wake will get him pro bono JD and CPA services as long as he's a full-time student and remains on track to graduate.
