After several trips through the list of the 40 rounds and 1215 players it appears that App did not have any players, current (including this years seniors) or incoming commits, drafted. I'm sure some of our graduating players will find a home somewhere but I thought you might want to see how our soon to be former conference and our new conference did. From counts it appears that the SoCon had 15 players taken and the Sun Belt had 24 players drafted. Of course this doesn't count the possible HS players that might have been committed to any of the Belt schools but listed below are the conferences and numbers. I included the one WKU player since they are still in the Belt until July 1st. Same thing with the one player from Elon.

I don't know about everybody else but I welcome the idea of raising the bar, across the board. If you do not set our goals high you will never achieve anything.

During the Lafayette super regional the other night they said the sun belt was 10th best conference this year. Not sure what socon was this year, but in the past it's been around 5 or 6 (before losing c of c). Also, socon had 28 guys drafted in 2012, if I remember correctly. So it's really hard to compare the leagues, and say the sun belt is better. I don't think so. It may be a lateral move for baseball.

The socon is definitely taking a HUGE hit.

One website has some RPI data going back 1990s or so for baseball. I'll try and find the link. But what I remember is the that SoCon was mid-teens mostlyor even lower, and in the last decade moved up a few sports as a whole conference but mostly low double digits. Maybe for a few weeks here and there we were 5-6 in conf RPI but the post about finishing 8 is also about the highest I remember, and even that year it seems the SB was a spot or two higher than the Socon. We are not moving up that much, but I would call a 2-3 step up in conf RPI not a complete lateral move either.

I'm not saying the data is off, but I don't see how the SB could have been ranked 30th in 2013. They had four NCAA tournament teams, which had to be in the top 5 or 6 conferences.

they may have had 4 really good teams and everyone else sucked it up, though it would be hard to have 4 good RPI teams and then 8 really bad teams that were really bad and not bring the whole conf down. Warren nolen also has yearly RPI or pseudo-RPI going back to 2004 or so but I could not get it to load, so I was not able to check both sites. 2013 may be a mistake. I don't remember the SoCon being that bad either.

Warren Nolen is now loading and the SB was 5 in 2013 and the SC was 12. That looks better.

Seems about right. 2012 was my main point and memory, but obviously socon has dropped of since then.
