wow.....really blew this one. 3-1 lead in the 9th and lose 4-3 in 11 innings
Jones should've put Whaley in to begin the 9th. thats why you have a closer
We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Yeah he really should have and at the very latest Whaley should have been after the first 1-out single. His coaching style the last few years has left a lot to be desired. Really been a disappointing start to the year. There has been very little offense and even more concerning is the amount of errors defensively.mtnjax wrote:wow.....really blew this one. 3-1 lead in the 9th and lose 4-3 in 11 innings

Yep, another error at SS gave them the winning run. Another unearned run, just like Friday's loss.

Re: vs Notre Dame
I don't get the excuse that I have seen on other threads that the players are having a hard time playing on grass. I played baseball for 15 years and the difference is not that significant, considering most of our errors are throwing errors.
If people are making the excuse that these guys cannot play on grass than there is obviously something I am missing. These kids have played on grass their whole life so I do not buy the excuse of them not knowing how to play on grass.
On yesterday's decision to leave Thurber in, Billy has done this time and time again the past few years and gotten burned by it every time. He will be successful in his time and Boone but he needs to change his managing style, especially with pitching.

Re: vs Notre Dame
I absolutely believe there can be a difference in playing on grass as compared to turf especially early in the season - Now, I agree it has nothing to do with throwing errors. Team, as well as individual, defense is the hardest aspect to replicate in early season practice and if all that practice is on a surface that has not been played on as yet there can be no way it doesn't have an effect. Every turf field is essentially the same - every grass field is different --- I think you will see the defense improve as they move through the season ---Goapps15 wrote:I don't get the excuse that I have seen on other threads that the players are having a hard time playing on grass.
