I think we’ll match up well with ULL. Their team BA is .264 ours is .319…. their team era is around 4.8 ours is about 5.45…… it’ll all come down to individual match-ups. They are a very good fielding team. If our starting pitching can perform to their averages, we’ll be fine. I’ll be disappointed if we don’t take both series. Still have to play the games.

The NCAA approved the SEC's request to implement ABS in their conference tournament. Sounds like something each conference could opt into.

What are the Friday/Saturday/Sunday starting pitchers comparable ERAs between the teams? The overall team ERAs can be misleading due teams played in OOC schedule and related pitchers.

Hawkeye cameras to challenge balls and strikes. Using it in MLB this year

Bamboo, actually late season averages are pretty reliable…. you are who you are. It’s way early in the season where the can be deceiving. On another issue I am seeing a little trend that’s concerning…. in our last two series, in the third game…. which typically will be a big hitting day because you are now into the opposing team’s worst pitching….. our hitting has dropped off … to about an average of 7 hits per game.

It stands for "Automated Ball-Strike Challenge System" (so shouldn't it be ABSCS?)
It's being used in MLB right now. The batter, pitcher, or catcher can challenge a ball or strike call if they disagree. Not sure how the SEC will handle it, but MLB puts limits on how often you can challenge based on if you're right or not.
I've really liked it in MLB so far this season. The reviews never take more than about 30 seconds. It's a good middle ground between human umps and 100% robots.

Troy just beat Bama.
Troy gets vaulted to 2 Q1 wins for us!
3-9 in Q1 now as opposed to 1-8.

Yes 311, and we still dropped one spot from 97 to 98……lots of craziness with the RPI system.

Did you all see where NC State refused to play/cancelled their game with NC A&T because even if they won their RPI would drop? They are one of the bubble teams for NCAA and decided to cancel the game rather than win and have their RPI Drop.

That sounds like a forfeit and a loss in the record book.

This is a regular occurrence late in the college baseball season among power conference teams and top Sun Belt teams. South Alabama just did it after sweeping Texas State and jumping 19 spots in the RPI.

Why should it be a loss? Just because you don’t like the school? There is absolutely nothing gained for playing the game. A win literally has a negative effect on them. The team should not be penalized for a crappy measurement system.

You scheduled it. Own responsibilities. I grew up a Heels fan before going to App. Has zero to do with being a fan or not. You scheduled it play it. The other school agreed to play it.

Similar to players opting out late in seasons. I do not like that either.
