Watching football in 40 degree weather hits differently than watching baseball in the same weather.

Back in my day coaching high school baseball we were not allowed to practice "do anything" prior to Feb 1st and the season started on Mar 1st. We had the month of Feb to get ready for the season AND I guarantee you we never had Feb weather then like we have had the last few years - usually absolutely miserable weather

Pollard would tell us playing in the cold was a home field advantage. I tend to agree, but man, some of those feb and march games were FRIGID. Here’s to hoping the cold practices and weather gives us an advantage!!!

Did the cold have any affect on pitching in terms of trying to stay loose between innings?

Oh for sure. The cold in baseball effects pretty much everything. We had some studs on the bump that were mentally tough and overcame it. That’s part of the reason Pollard was such a successful coach, he preached the mental aspect more than anyone day in and day out. He was the type of coach that said “if you think you’re cold, you’re going to be cold, if you think your sick, you’re gonna be sick”. That mental aspect some of those teams had were just wayyyy stronger than our opponents. Same for football, we don’t think anything about the cold, but it gets in opponents heads! Advantage for sure but maybe disadvantage for practices, prep and recruiting lol.

Looks like a good start. I hate this isn't on ESPN+ or something.

Impressed with Wilson, even though he was a little erratic. To walk 5 guys and not allow a run is impressive. Pour it on boys!

A solid win.In consolation Queens did something we could not do , they beat Kennesaw in hoops today .
