2013 NCAA BBALL TOURNY

Unread post by huskie3 » Mon May 27, 2013 4:49 pm

Elon (only socon rep) goes to Virginia. Our new conference Sun Belt gets 4 teams in tourny. Also found it interesting in regional sites ( Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Charlottesville, Blacksburg, and Columbia). Not really sure where we will go, all have good teams.

Both the Big South (Liberty and Coastal) and the CAA (UNCW and W&M) are sending two teams to the tournament. Also two likely SoCon newcomers (Mercer and ETSU) made the field from the Atlantic Sun. Seems the SoCon got no respect this year.

I'm not sure the SoCon earned respect this year.

Western was the only team with an at-large shot and they had no marquee OOC wins. Breezed through the SoCon but going 1-1 against Wake isn't enough to build a résumé.

I do think the SoCon will be a multi-bid league in 2014 though. App, Citadel, Elon, GSU and Western should all be very solid.
