Just turned on Rays Red Sox game on TBS and the first thing they say is Jeffrey Springs on the mound from Belmont, NC. He attended Appalachian State.

Was really a nice moment.

I just checked the App baseball page hoping to see something about Springs. Dude has been lights out so far. 13 innings pitched zero (0.00) ERA. He pitches again this afternoon at 1.

Jeff Passan on ESPN.com picked him to win the AL Cy Young as part of their "hot takes" article.
I'm a Braves fan, but I've got no problem pulling for the Rays, since they are in the AL. GO APP!

Yea he's been killing it... he really likes the pitch clock.... signed a $31M 4yr contract in the off season. Don't want to jinx him today.

Left with an injury - probably a blister. My computer is on mute while I'm sitting in a meeting trying to stay awake.

That's on me. I'll take the blame for the jinx.

Hope it’s not too serious. He was one of the best pitchers in baseball to start the year.

As a Ray’s fan, this sucks. He was off to a great start and they are losing pitchers left and right. Silver lining is that a lot of guys come back from TJS stronger.
