This team never quit - fought to the last out every game - and that is a reflection on the type of young men who put on the uniform BUT more so it tells me about the character of Coach Smith and his assistants -
Let me just say this - Anyone who continually calls for the firing of coaches is NOT a fan, just an angry, frustrated know-nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This team beat all expectations this season and certainly during the tournament. We had a special bunch of seniors leading the way.

Congrats boys!!!!! You guys have done something’s that have never been done before by an App baseball team in the SunBelt. You repped App St so well. Congratulations!

Such a fun season. We lose a lot of great talent but Kermit has shown he can recruit the portal

Great season coach Smith, staff and team. The game has change A LOT in his 7 seasons and should be a reminder of what he inherited from Jones, thanks to Cobb. The fractures caused in recruiting can’t be understated but thankfully we have the portal and the rebuilding of recruiting trails.

Let’s give a shout-out to this thread. 82 pages strong. Thank you to everyone who invested in app state baseball this year. Many people who would have never paid attention to this team got invested and the support grew stronger. That’s what this program needs. This team was so fun to follow and gave us joy we haven’t had in a decade. Cheers to App state baseball and all the supporters and let’s keep this train rolling

85th in RPI as of this morning! Climbed 15 spots in the tourney! Appsolutely amazing improvement from last year.

Great season - I'm assuming that is Tut will return. With him and Hamilton that is a good 1-2 punch to start with.
They will get a few transfers or JUCO's for the field that will help immediately. Just gotta find some pitchers.

I have to think that a 30 win season will help with picking up some solid transfers. Fingers crossed

He can’t transfer without sitting so draft or UDFA is likely our only hurdle to clear.

No insight just what I see. A lot on here don't agree with me but just my opinion. We will find out in a couple weeks. In the meantime he needs to rest that arm. He looked tired toward the end of the season. He's a power pitcher, he throws close to 100% every time. He pitched a combined 55innings in the previous 3 years combined. This year 90 I think

Loved seeing this megathread grow. The original idea was to have one running thread that gets 20-30-40 pages large so people would have one more indication that momentum is building rather than 55 sparsely commented on game threads throughout a season. It worked. It’s growing year over year.

College baseball power is shifting south east. When college baseball stadiums around the region start picking up the college football atmosphere…look out.
