Re: 2022 Baseball Mega Thread
Although I totally understand the difference in scheduling in college vs. high school, if I had an experienced team coming back I looked to schedule the toughest OCC as possible, conversely with an inexperienced team I looked for wins. We had no "at-large" bids so it all came down to conference standing but I firmly believe the players must experience Wins - Winning is contagious and not only within a particular season but continual seasons. I was happy the day I could institute our team motto - A Winning Tradition - It doesn't happen with a couple of good seasons, it must be developed consistently over time.
Therefore my opinion on APP baseball is to schedule many more winnable OCC games. If the SB continues with its outstanding play and APP can finish high in the conference the SOS will take care of itself -
Another philosophy - when your team takes the field Expecting To Win and your opponents take the field Hoping To Win, you are on road to success

Agree with you on winning breeds a winning attitude. I guess my question is with a shoestring budget, who do we schedule OOC that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to get to and is an easy win? Mid week games have to be close in proximity to avoid overnight stays. Campbell, UNCG, and ECU made the tourney.WVAPPeer wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 10:00 amAlthough I totally understand the difference in scheduling in college vs. high school, if I had an experienced team coming back I looked to schedule the toughest OCC as possible, conversely with an inexperienced team I looked for wins. Re: 2022 Baseball Mega Thread
Would it be true to say that the baseball schedule, or most of our out of conference games, are scheduled just a year or less ahead of the season? Or are they scheduled years ahead?

Football is the only sport that schedules years out. Maybe a little basketball.Boone Goon wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 9:36 amMajority are less than 12 months aheadCro-Magnon App wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 10:07 pmWould it be true to say that the baseball schedule, or most of our out of conference games, are scheduled just a year or less ahead of the season?
