Re: 2022 Baseball Mega Thread
This is all coming full circle for me. If Stink can recruit good enough players to make the Top 25 in baseball to that god-forsaken area of the world and App. St. cannot in god's country...my conclusion is we are doing something wrong..
This should never happen in the world that we live in. I need no stats on funding, facilities, weather...this is all the empirical evidence I need.

Re: 2022 Baseball Mega Thread
I want to say that I have seen it somewhere in another thread and I want to say that Gillin has referenced it as well. If you can’t find it with the resources you have, then I may be misremembering. I’ll see what I can find out.T-Dog wrote: ↑Wed Apr 20, 2022 2:43 pmI looked around for it last night and couldn't find such a bill. A bill in 2019 passed the state House with overwhelming support, but never saw the light of a state Senate committee. There was another bill filed in February 2021 that never was heard. Was it part of an ombud bill or the state budget?

3 game series at ULM. 7pm tonight. 3pm Saturday. 2pm Sunday. Winning 2 out of 3 is absolutely crucial. Reading between the lines on his Twitter post earlier this will I think Kermit Smith knows he’s coaching for his job.

Could you please stop with your nonsense. Every coach is coaching for their jobs every time they compete. Smith has taken a dumpster-fire of a program and positioned it in the top half of college baseball. We’re going through a bad patch, no doubt. We all like winning. But your constant harping on the baseball staff has really gotten tiresome.

I don't care what you think about my opinions 78. I'm going to say what I'm going to say. That's what message boards are for.

Re: 2022 Baseball Mega Thread
I came to realization many years ago that as much as I love and support my teams we can’t just speak championship teams into existence. Other schools actually recruit, practice, condition, game plan and try to win as much as we do. While I agree that the coach is probably needing to get something going I also agree that it’s pointless to constantly say negative stuff. I have to believe that it’s killing him right now and that the staff is trying as hard as they can to get wins.pop5app wrote: ↑Fri Apr 22, 2022 2:50 pmI really don’t see what he said that wasn’t the truth. Can't speak for 78 but what I think he is saying is that every coach understands the ultimate goal is to win and NOBODY wants to win more than the coach.

Guys...of course I'm aware every coach is coaching for their job every game. That's a captain obvious point. Anyone with half a brain can read the subtext in Kermit's post earlier this week and glean he knows he's embattled. It didn't even cross my mind that pointing that out was some kind of hot take. When we win or play Wake close I congratulate the team...there just haven't been many opportunities to do so lately. I get the feeling some of you think this message board is supposed to be all sunshine and smoke blown up your skirts. Good with the bad. Bad with the good. You have to be able to objectively recognize both.
I've said over and over and over again I WANT Kermit Smith to win. Now let's go get 2 of 3 on the road this weekend!

I’ve watched both the UNC game and WF game on ACCN. Our “performance” in both of those games was “impressive” (in our close loses). Much better than our record.

No one thinks this place is for rainbows...but you've beaten a dead horse, been proven wrong, and yet here you are, reposting the same tired thoughts. Maybe you're just unleaded!APPdiesel wrote: ↑Fri Apr 22, 2022 5:47 pmGuys...of course I'm aware every coach is coaching for their job every game. That's a captain obvious point. Re: 2022 Baseball Mega Thread
I wish we could win without the shade from departmental spokespeople.
This team had lost 9 conference games in a row. Didn't look competitive against USA and were swept twice in a row at home. It's OK to be upset and question things at that point.
I remember I made similar critical points during a bad baseball run a few years ago and the "we're injured" line came out immediately through officially and unofficial channels. Wasn't the first time I Tweeted or posted my criticisms that others agreed about in private but then kept quiet when the charm offensive came.

Re: 2022 Baseball Mega Thread
I watched the majority of Friday nights game and I saw a solid performance all the way around, clutch hits, solid base running,a couple of outstanding defensive plays, one particularly by our SS to1B. And holding any college team to one run with 3 hits is impressive

Re: 2022 Baseball Mega Thread
That’s his job. I’m sure you would respond the same way of you were in his position. Two of our original weekend starters have battled injuries all season. The staff struggles with walks, much like the basketball team struggles with free throws. The difference is the basketball team was able to overcome the obstacles a little more often. There is no problem with criticism. It is a fan board after all. It’s the refusal to accept logic as to why and call it excuses that gets tiresome.T-Dog wrote: ↑Fri Apr 22, 2022 11:15 pmI wish we could win without the shade from departmental spokespeople.
