He'll be our Skipper through 2023 and hopefully longer.

I am excited about this news. The baseball team isn’t there yet but it’s headed in the right direction.

Thought the same thing with the last guy than they fired him with the best class we have ever had since Pollard and sent us back even further. I seem even more skeptical to grant an extension with no real progressional results yet. Just a tad early in my opinion for an extension.

Next extension should go to Shelly Hoerner (Softball HC). Amazing turnaround from year 1 (a team she didn't get to construct at all) and year 2 (her first full year of recruiting and off-season workouts and all). I respect what she's doing to put our softball at the top of the conference discussion. We're no Louisiana, but that win column looked very nice this year.

I hadn't seen the same type of progress from the last guy. I felt great about him when he was hired and certainly wanted him to succeed. Kermit Smith is checking all the boxes though...on the field, I the classroom, Service events.

Congratulations, Coach Smith! Keep things going in this direction and we will get there soon!
