Painful to watch. Is Jones another OJT project?

Wow...just wow! How in heavens did we blow this one? DJ was talking about all the arms in the bullpen that give Coach Jones a lot of opportunities for situational pitching...so much for that idea.

Is there no App State team that's going to perform this year? What's up with App athletics in 2013-14?

That's almost as bad as the Canucks giving up 7 goals in the 3rd last night to lose 7-4.

Sorry, drifted into hockey for a minute.

No, no. You reminded me that the Pens are in NBCSN. Three minutes from a back-to-back sweep of the Caps. Warm for only one day, and the Caps are already wilting.

One of my black and gold teams salvaged my night. 8-)

Maybe it's divine forces at work to help us really enjoy how awesome 2014 - 2015 will be. What can I say, I'm ever the optimist and a so-called "RAH RAH" fan. Go Apps!

I was listening to the game on ASU app last night. DJ tried not to show it, but you could hear the disbelief at what he was watching. One out away. Close but no cigar.

Another close loss. We have the talent to play with anyone, but we can't get over the hump. Maybe a few guys will get the bats going.

The thing that happened in the ND game was the same thing in the first game. Jones left Thurber in for the ninth. Thurber is good in long-relief situations and he got 5 K's in the 7th and 8th, but we have a closer in Whaley for a reason.

Part of Jones' problem is that he trusts his players to a fault and leaves pitchers in too long. He did the same with Marcello last year. He also continues to let errors happen that give up runs. Dobson had an error in the 8th that led to a run, which ended up being very crucial. Also, Davis made a mental error late in the game where he didn't hustle hard enough on a deep fly-ball and it went over his head and two runs were scored.

He shouldn't start Burkett again this year. Farmer's healing from his surgery so hopefully he can be the second mid-week starter behind Mason, but we don't need that for the new few weeks.

It's frustrating because this team has the pitching. Defense and hitting can be improved and if they do so, they could be a really good ball club.

Don't think it's been mentioned, but Tyler Zupcic misplayed two late inning balls hit into the leftfield corner that really hurt us. Seems like a senior would have learned how to play caroms off the fence by now. One will get by you once in a while--but two in two or three innings of the same game is like a knife in the chest to your team.
