Although I totally understand the difference in scheduling in college vs. high school, if I had an experienced team coming back I looked to schedule the toughest OCC as possible, conversely with an inexperienced team I looked for wins. We had no "at-large" bids so it all came down to conference standing but I firmly believe the players must experience Wins - Winning is contagious and not only within a particular season but continual seasons. I was happy the day I could institute our team motto -
A Winning Tradition - It doesn't happen with a couple of good seasons, it must be developed consistently over time.
Therefore my opinion on APP baseball is to schedule many more winnable OCC games. If the SB continues with its outstanding play and APP can finish high in the conference the SOS will take care of itself -
Another philosophy - when your team takes the field
Expecting To Win and your opponents take the field
Hoping To Win, you are on road to success
