Need ideas/referrals for Oct 1 - GA State
OK - I have 4 of my OLD (VERY OLD) high school buddies meeting me in Boone for the Black Saturday game on Oct. 1st (Sep 29-Oct2) - I don't think any have been to Boone and surely not an APP State game - they are coming from West VA, Atlanta and Texas - I would like to find a cabin/lodge in close vicinity to Boone (Blowing Rock area is fine) - I want a nice place and big enough for 5 guys (I don't want to bunk together like we did in elementary school, etc. :>) 2 nights only is the key - a couple of the rental agencies wanted as much as 4 night minimum - can do 2 nights only --- It has been over 10 years since I have booked a cabin/lodge in that area and I have no idea who to contact these days --- Feel free to PM me with any and all suggestions - I have my buddy Moose working on finding 5 tickets --- Thanks in advance ---

Look on vrbo.com and airbnb.com. Always a lot on there.

I went through these guys last fall for the ULL game and only stayed two nights. Might be worth a shot.

However, I would call the day before to remind them to clean the property. They had forgot before we came and we ended up spending the first 3 hours of our vacation doing sheets and towels from the previous guests.

Used VRBO last two winters for sugar mtn ski trips. Saved a bundle not paying the extra taxes and fees.

I just got a quote thru a VRBO and it has over $400 worth of taxes and fees - Am I missing something? Doing something wrong? ---

I've found that most of the regular vacation rental places post their properties on VRBO and saturate the listings, which makes it more difficult to find true vacation rentals by owner that don't have night minimums and excessive fees. In fact, I've vowed to never use VRBO again until it is cleaned up.WVAPPeer wrote:Thanks to everyone!!!bigdaddyg wrote:Used VRBO last two winters for sugar mtn ski trips.
